Bitcoin Holding Sweden AB (the “Company”) announces that, on 11 September 2025, the Company – against its expressed will – executed a forced sale of its entire bitcoin position on Safello AB’s (”Safello”) platform. This action was taken solely to secure the assets, after Safello refused to allow withdrawals of the Company’s bitcoin holdings to its own or other custody solutions.
Immediately following the forced sale, the Company repurchased bitcoin for SEK 704 000 SEK. The remaining proceeds from Safello are expected to be used to repurchase bitcoin on Monday, due to banking transaction times (“banking days”), thereby fully restoring the Company’s position in line with its long-term investment policy.
The Company emphasizes that the sale was not voluntary and stands in direct conflict with the Company’s long-term investment policy of accumulating bitcoin without divestments. The measure was implemented exclusively to protect shareholder value and ensure asset preservation.
Bitcoin Holding Sweden AB will continue to pursue its claims against Safello, including compensation for the financial and reputational damages caused by Safello’s conduct.
During the past week, the Company has consulted with independent regulatory experts and legal advisors specializing in financial regulation, MiCA, AML and crypto custody. All parties have confirmed that Bitcoin Holding Sweden AB has acted fully in compliance with Swedish and European law, while Safello’s actions are not consistent with applicable legislation, regulations or market practice.
The Company will continue to inform shareholders and the market of further developments in this matter.
